Advantages over the regular video; here we can jot down some obvious ones:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Variety&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Availability: available any time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Using different videos catered for different needs, with different students at the same time in case you work in a room equipped with many computers&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Sts can watch it as many times as they wish. They can work at their own pace.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Used in class or assinged for homework.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's explore &lt;a href="http://teachertube.com/"&gt;teachertube&lt;/a&gt;. There are a variety of very interesting resources to use in class. Why third layer? Because if we are to build the structure of organizational communication we should start by an effective information system, then build effective interpersonal communication and then get ready for true participation. What is true participation? It is that which reaches beyond opinion exchange and becomes action. In other words: make information readily available, get the meaning across building healthy relationships and then you will be ready for working together implementing the changes that your organization needs. Much more easily said than done, isn't it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We educators, are used to the paradigm of cooperative professional development. So this year I am trying to involve staff in a teacher development program whose objective is to improve classroom management skills, but not in the regular supervisor-supervised framework. The aim is to involve all teachers in a cross-visiting experience which shall be documented and eventually shared with the larger community. First it was too late in the year and we were already finishing, then holidays and I needed a rest, then too early and little time to write throughout the registration period. Wow!! I was even thinking that I had started too many web initiatives and had no real time to work on them! Maybe ... however, that is the way some of us naturally react when we get so excited, trying, exploring, getting involved!! You get to know about blogs and you start one, then you discover wikis and you want to try too, then  social web sites, pages, etc. But what is the right use of each tool? The answer shall come with more practice...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The main topics I am interested in this year have to do with TEACHER PARTICIPATION and its role in management. The fist question I have in mind is: How can teacher participation be structured in a way it enriches educational management? Can educational management be participatory without becoming chaotic? Is participating simply "giving an opinion? How can teachers take responsibility and develop commitment beyond the opinion-giving forum? How can those bright and interesting ideas be considered and reach implementation stages? Then this also takes us to reflect upon management styles. It was great!!</title><content type='html'>I was at &lt;a href="http://www.abs-international.com.ar/cc2007-intro.htm"&gt;ABS Congress of Coordinators and DOS.&lt;/a&gt; Buenos Aires was as exciting as always, but it is nice to be back home, here in Ciudad de la Costa, Canelones, Uruguay. I'm helping my daughter do her homework as I catch up with mail and answer some nice comments from colleagues I met over there. To give you a more graphic representation of my mind after this event, it is a boiling pot!! Hope we can cook some really good stuff in the upcoming months!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First thing I realized after so many talks about the use of Internet tools in our profession: I am not using this blog the way I should. I am mostly using it to share links, and I have been extremely ... shy?...lazy? ... to write. Which is actually very funny since my first and most successful blog is a poetry blog where I dare express myself freely. Maybe it was harder to find my professional voice. The truth is, I'll be changing it and redesigning it as I also explore other tools and resources. So now, I'll be sharing this jurney of exploration and learning.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was particularly impressed by those colleagues who shared their experiences at implementing Internet resources with sts. GLADYS BAYA &amp; MA. CLAUDIA BELLUSCI talked about implementing wikis and blogs. They recommended great sites I'll be visiting soon. Another highlight: &lt;span class="texto11-14blue"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Athena          in the classroom: on becoming a mentor&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; by GABRIEL DIAZ MAGGIOLI &amp;amp; MARINA GONZÁLEZ. That showed how binational cooperation, high quality educational management and expertise can walk hand in hand!! Another great one: my dear colleague Silvia Laborde who always has a great way of putting educational management tools in our hands.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My presentation was Improving Interpersonal Communication Skills, and I'll tell you about it in the next entry.
